
Nadia Roden is an award-winning painter and animator. Her marvelously imaginative art-in-motion is created with traditional drawing tools and shot on film. Her works have won several awards including an ASIFA Film Festival 1st Prize Charles Samu Award, the Ann Arbor Film Festival Honorary Award, and the Black Maria Film Festival Director's Choice Award. Other work figured prominently in a 2002 HBO Holiday special for which she created a film accompaniment to Bette Midler's rendition of Chanukah Oh Chanukah. In 2003 She worked with Sesame Workshop to create 5 short films for international distribution and in 2005 she created the film Aquarium for HBOÕs Classical Baby Show.
In 2006 she undertook a successful campaign for Beano (Glaxo Smith Kline) through Publicis Dallas. The style is classic Nadia, hand-drawn characters of her own design, animated and filmed traditionally. Additionally her artwork and animations have been featured on the Discovery Channel, PBS, and in Oprah Winfrey's magazine. Nadia has also created animation for live stage projection for use in a comic opera by David Soldier commissioned by the Walker Arts Center and Guthrie Theater lab in Minneapolis and has animated an installation for The Kitchen Theater in New York City and for the Manhattan Theatre Club. She has published her first book "Granita Magic" and has created her own line of textile print designs. A native of London, she now lives in New York.
