Jen Sachs is an award-winning animation director and moti graphics artist who lives and works in Los Angeles. Since 1998, Jen has directed and animated several independent shorts utilizing various styles and techniques to explore multiple layers of a shared reality.
Jen’s films have won several prizes for “Best Animation,” including a Student Academy Award, and have screened in the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, and U.S. festivals including Sundance, Telluride, and Ann Arbor. Her shorts have been programmed in over fifty international festivals in over a dozen countries and broadcast domestically on public television and cable. In 2002, she was named one of Filmmaker Magazine’s “New Faces of Independent Film.”
Since her graduation from CalArts in 2001, Jen has balanced her independent projects with work in theatrical and broadcast motion graphics. Her commercial work for various Los Angeles-based design firms has broadcast on networks including MTV, CMT, and Lifetime, and screened in multiple theatrical releases.
