The 25-year old was struck by a motor vehicle at Delray Beach, Florida on Sunday morning and had to have the lowest half of his right leg amputated. He’s currently listed in critical condition at Delray Medical Center based on Blackzillians teammate Rashad Evans.
Bellator published a statement indicating Delray Beach police are seeking info from anybody who might have witnessed the accident. “Bellator was informed of a terrible accident that happened last night involving featherweight fighter Jordan Parsons, who was struck by an automobile in a shout incident,” the announcement read. “We are still in the process of uncovering details and with his family’s consent, hope to have an update on his medical condition shortly. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jordan and his family as he recovers. The hit-and-run occurred on Lindell Blvd. and South Federal Highway at Delray Beach, Florida. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Delray Beach Police Department at -LRB-561-RRB-??243-7800.” Parsons (12-2) has been scheduled to fight Adam Piccolotti at Bellator 154 at San Jose on May 14. It is likely Piccolotti will not have a replacement competitor and the bout will probably be scrapped. I interviewed Parsons last week ahead of his Bellator 154 matchup and he was excited about the move back up to lightweight.
